LG KE850 Prada - Designer’s Delight

If looking good is your specialty and obsession, then the LG KE850 is definitely the mobile phone for you. In a world first, LG have teamed up with fashion front-runners Prada to bring you a phone that is sassy, shiny, sexy and still, ultimately, a very functional phone.

From the moment the Prada is unpacked from its designer box, you are left in no doubt that this phone has an enviable fashion pedigree. Miuccia Prada herself contributed to the design of this phone, and it definitely shows. The LG KE850 is a slim, candy bar handset with a large touchscreen and comes with a Prada-emblazoned hard leather carry case and earphone set. Measuring 99mm x 54mm x 12mm, this is a phone that can easily slide into the most micro hipster jeans without ruining your look.

The LG KE850 has an easy-to-read display, which is responsive and bright. Without a stylus, you need to tap at the screen with your manicured nails – but be careful – the glossy surface is easily smudged and scratched. Luckily, Prada have thought to include a signature cleaning cloth so that you can keep your phone in perfect condition.

As well as its sensual good looks, the Prada phone is positively brimming with features. It has a 2 megapixel camera that shoots still pictures and video. The colour touch-screen is used as the viewfinder – an arrangement that works quite well. The quality of photos isn’t as good as that offered by comparable phones on the market, but you can still snap a passable shot of the hottest designer dress to show your friends. The Prada also includes a video player that supports MPEG-4 and H.263 formats and a music player that supports MP3 and AAC. Fortunately the included headphones are good quality, and sound is crisp, because the phone doesn’t have a standard jack into which you could plug your own ear-pieces. To ensure that you keep up to date with work, the Prada phone has excellent word-processing software. The document viewer supports Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Acrobat files, which are re-organized to fit the screen width – no need to spend time scrolling across the document. The KE850 also allows you to browse the internet, except you may find that sites look a little odd when displayed in the browser. Another downside is that this phone doesn’t support 3G or Wi-Fi, so don’t expect fast-paced downloads. Given the large screen size and brightness of the display, it is unsurprising that the battery power of the Prada phone is depleted quite quickly.
