Samsung D600 – More Of A Life Choice Than A Mobile Phone

Very few mobile phones have the ability to enhance the quality of individual lives, but the Samsung D600 certainly does. A huge favourite with the majority of people that have ever used it, the D600 is more of a life choice than a mobile phone because it promises so much and actually delivers!

The appearance of the D600 handset is faultless. Available in black or red, this slider has clean-cut lines and a flawless outer casing that effectively protects the phone without ruining its appeal. It establishes the image of the phone with one glance and sticks in the memory. The screen and control buttons take pride of place on top of the slider with a well spaced and highlighted keypad underneath.

The screen is TFT with a resolution of 240×320 pixels, thus offering excellent graphic quality and displaying 262,000 colours. You can clearly see what you are doing, even in the darkest and brightest of conditions, which is an advantage most other phones don’t have. The keypad is extremely accurate, which only serves to enhance the capability of the screen and ease of navigation.

The D600 has all the usual suspects for features – bluetooth, 2MP camera, MP3, USB, TV cable for linking video images and Internet. It also has the added ability to read Office files, which would suit business users down to the ground. It doesn’t have infrared though, which lessens its connectivity slightly, but the quality of bluetooth makes up for that.

The sound is excellent, both musically speaking and as far as voice calls are concerned. The D600 has a crisp voice quality that few phones can match as well as a battery life of 3 hours talk time as promised.

The main, and only, weakness is the camera. Whilst images are clear and extremely crisp, the shutter has a slight lag that makes it impossible to take action photos of any sort. The video capability may well solve that problem though, unless you are desperate for stills! The 88MB internal memory can store plenty of images and can be supplemented with a memory card if you also want to store music.

The Samsung D600 is at the cutting edge of phone fashion and caters for personal and business use effectively. It has very few weaknesses and can be used by anyone, regardless of phone experience and user ability. Whether you’re into music or image, business or pleasure, the D600 is an all round great phone and should be treasured as one of the few that will not let you down.
